Test ID: NAD
Bodily B3 vitamins manifest as NADs, regulating the body’s energy metabolism and repair capacity.
Four types of NAD play a vital role in redox reactions, transferring electrons and supporting enzymatic reactions essential for cellular functions. Additionally, NADs are key players in regulatory pathways, influencing processes such as DNA repair and cell survival. Their significance in cellular activities makes them targets for research and interventions related to health, longevity, and disease.
With the NADMED method, it is now possible for the first time to accurately measure all four forms of NADs from a blood sample. Low NAD levels can be corrected with B3 vitamin therapy, but it is crucial to monitor carefully to avoid exceeding the healthy range for a long period of time.
