Minerals and toxic elements deposited in growing hair correlate with those in the blood supply to the scalp. Analysing the 5cm of hair cut close to the scalp provides a reliable analysis of average circulating blood levels of essential minerals and toxic elements during the hair growth period (typically 2-3 months).
These levels can be used to identify deficiencies and sub-optimal levels of key minerals including calcium, magnesium, zinc, copper, selenium, chromium and iodine, and to monitor environmental exposure to toxic metals such as lead, mercury, cadmium, arsenic and aluminium.
